Here's some help to install NOD32 or ESS
license information into your computer

The ESET Knowledgebase has a few articles to help you put your licence code, that's the username and password information you've received, usually by email, into your computer.
It's most important that you install this license code soon after receiving it, to maintain the top antivirus - antispyware protection by your ESET products.

Do I need to do anything with this renewed ESET license?

Does the new license have the same username details as the old license?

Some renewed NOD32 or ESS Smart Security licenses now have the same username and password as the old license that's been renewed (June 2010).

When you ordered the renewal of your license you would have needed the old username. It's able to be seen if you follow these instructions. If the old username (that you are potentially replacing) is the same as the new license username, then your license details will have been updated on the ESET Update Servers and no change is needed on your computer. The renewal of the license on ESET Servers may take 24 hours after payment is made.

Just to be sure your license is updated this way, keep an eye on the PC that NOD 32 (or ESS) continues to receive updates after old license expiry date.

First we need to find out the version of NOD32 you've got on your computer!

On the tray, please look at the icons or symbols in the tray area of your computer screen. The tray is usually in the bottom right hand corner of your screen. It might look like this ..

There should be one of these symbols (icons) in the tray. They'll look like this or like this .

The first icon is for NOD32 Version 2.7 or earlier version 2 Or this icon .icon is for the newer Version 3.0 (which came out in 2007).

Note. Sometimes the icon will be a different color as there may be a warning from it about needing renewal or some other attention.
